David Cameron will remain as U.K. prime minister.

The Conservatives, Cameron’s party, won an unexpected victory in the general election. Polls ahead of the election showed a tight race with the opposition Labour Party. However, the Scottish National Party won almost every seat in Scotland, which were considered Labour seats. Cameron will remain as prime minister and his Conservative party has secured the 326 seats they need to form a majority government. Ed Miliband, lead of the Labour party, has stepped down after his party’s loss.
