The Niger Delta Avengers on Thursday
accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being the only Nigerian against
calls for the nation’s restructuring.
The group also said the recent
bombardments of some of its members in Arepo community of Lagos/Ogun
communities was unprofessional.
In a statement issued by the spokesman
for the group, Mudoch Agbinibo, the Avengers vowed that the recent
bombardments would not stop them from fighting for their people,
challenging the Nigerian military to display to the public its members
that were killed in the air strikes since it begun.
It accused the military of killing innocent women and children during their air bombardment exercise.
The militant group while announcing a
new Twitter account, took a swipe at the online social network service
provider for suspending it former account, saying such would not stop
the group’s struggle.
The Air Force and other security
agencies had started aerial bombardments of “criminal hideouts and camps
harbouring pipelines vandals” at Arepo and its environs on July 28.
But the Avengers, while claiming
responsibility for militants’ activities in Arepo communities, said,
“The Nigeria military is playing some war game on some illegal bunkering
camps and showing video of how they carry out the bombardments.
“That is so unprofessional; I don’t think they can intimidate the NDA with those scrap jet bombers.”
