Kwara community fights crime

Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah-Ahmed
The Olomu-in-Council of Omu-Aran, the Omu-Aran Development Association, and the Omu-Aran Youth Forum, have mobilised the indigenes towards boosting security of lives and property in the town, which is the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The National President of ODA, Chief Peter Oyinloye and the ODA National Public Relations Officer, Mr. Demola Olanrewaju, stated this on Saturday.
They spoke during a media briefing in Omu-Aran. They also said the town had been well fortified by the presence of well-equipped security operatives.
They stated that the security operatives — including the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, members of Operation Harmony, riot and regular police officers, members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as local vigilance group — were on ground in the community to enhance security.

They said three police posts had been constructed at strategic locations in the town, to further make the town a safe haven for residents, investors and commercial activities, especially in the banking sector.
