BEING THE PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT

        Combatant greetings to all members of the above students' union government.
This present administration in furtherance to fulfilling our campaign promises to the teeming members of the union and in our commitment to ensure the current economic downturn facing us does not have much impact on our daily needs as students and in our undaunted resolve to stand against any form of extortion or exploitation. A progressive meeting of all sellers in university hall of residence was held today and agreement was reached on the price of essential commodities.
It would be recalled that the union had earlier proceeded to evaluate the price of goods and services on campus and the results indicated that extortion on campus, if not arrested and put in jail will grow so big and will be terrorising the union members.
         In lieu of the above the new price regulation will be put on all notice board in all hall of residence. Sellers in all hall of residence are in their own interest to comply with the regulated price, and if acted otherwise the union will not hesitate to lock down the shop(s) that go against the union directive.
       Finally,  we call on all members of the union to be vigilant and report any shop that sells above what has been regulated.
