The cruel hand of death has hit Kenyan football again with the passing on of legend John Otieno Hatari through a road accident.
Hatari, who played alongside the late James Sianga, died through a road accident past Kericho on his way back home after attending Sianga’s funeral.
The death caught many by surprise as he had travelled to pay his last respects to the late Sianga only to succumb to death while on his way back to Nairobi.
Hatari, who last week attended several fund raising events for the late Sianga, appeared jovial during the funeral. He hails from Ranjala location in Ugenya, Siaya County.
Following his death, several former players, led by Tusker FC team manager George Opondo, George Sunguti, Paul Onyiera and Joe Kadenge, paid their condolences to the family of the late Hatari.
During the fund raising of the late Sianga at Railway club, Hatari caused prolonged laughter when he said Sianga was now involved in active football administration in heaven.
