The Argentine star wants the freedom to return to his boyhood club, Newell's Old Boys, when he decides to bring an end to his time in Catalonia
Lionel Messi hopes to have a clause inserted in his next Barcelona contract which will allow him to leave when he sees fit, according to Diario Gol.
Messi, 29, has spent his entire career with the Catalan side after joining from Newell's Old Boys' youth system in 2001.
However, the Argentine has always suggested he could leave the Blaugrana and end his career with his boyhood and hometown team.
And according to the news outlet, Messi is already planning for that move.
It is reported that he wants a release clause in his upcoming deal which allows him to end his time there when he sees fit to join the Argentine side.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently contracted to Barca until 2018.
