Ndokwa ethnic militant group rejects NDDCG as representatives

– Militants from Ndokwa area of Niger Delta are against the NDDCG representing them during talks with the federal government
– According to the group, the NDDCG ignore the interests of other ethnic nationalities
One more militant group form Niger Delta region have rejected the Niger Delta Dialogue Contact Group (NDDCG) as their representative during negotiations with the federal government over crisis in the area.
Recall that recently the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), presented the NDDCG as a clearing house for “all mushroom and internet-based militant groups in the region” acting under the code name of Aaron 2.
Reacting to the statement the Ndokwa ethnic militant group (NEM) stressed that it didn’t give the dialogue group an authority to speak for them as they only represent the Ijaw agenda.
It also stressed that neither the National Security Adviser (NSA) nor any parties concerned take into account the interests of other ethnic nationalities — as Ndokwa, Isoko, Itsekiri, Uhrobos — in the oil and gas sector.
The group stated that the current crisis is purely and truly an Ijaw self determination quest involving grievous issues which predate the current administration.
Earlier two other groups, Ultimate Warriors and the Niger Delta Revolutionary Crusaders (NDRC), have refused to recognize the MEND as their envoy group and gave President Muhammadu Buhari three weeks ultimatum to list a high-powered government Dialogue Team.
